Missouri Masters: Chaotic 2022

This month, we celebrated our fourth annual cocktail making competition, Missouri Masters. The brief was to create a cocktail inspired by a chaotic 2022 event….as you can imagine we weren’t short on inspiration.

The Missouri team’s passion for cocktails is both personal and professional, so the serves did not disappoint. We saw (and tasted) cocktails using our partner brands inspired by celebrity slaps, Twitter takeovers, tory exits, and harrowing heatwaves, to name a few.

Take a look below at the top three cocktails!

Winners: Raf and Luke

Raf and Luke created served their cocktail ‘Tequila Sunflower’ in a Heinz soup tin. Their drink was inspired by ‘Just Stop Oil’ protestors throwing tomato soup on Van Gough’s Sunflowers painting. They won literally hands-down.

Runner’s up: Silvia and Jonny

It’s getting hot, hot, hot! Silvia and Jonny based their flaming concoction on the rising temperatures in the UK. Their drink served the heat.

Third place: Tom and Sam

Tom and Sam’s cocktail somewhat resembled an Eton Mess, inspired by the revolving door of the tory government… We even had Boris Johnson feature as a special guest.

Honourable mention: Stu and Paul

Whilst Stu and Paul gave the performance of their lives, their serve unfortunately tasted on the lower end of the scale… However, they deserved the honourable mention for their wigs and theme: God Save the Queen (Rest in Peace Lizzy).
